What is an EPD? Example: Nano Facade Insulation Panel

An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) makes the environmental impacts of a construction product comparable across its life cycle. It is based on the EN 15804 series of standards, which defines common calculation rules (product category rules, PCR) and module boundaries — including the production stage A1–A3 (raw material supply, transport, manufacturing).

Using a nano facade insulation panel as an example, the module values for GWP (Global Warming Potential) are reported in kg CO2-equivalent per declared unit. These values originate from a verified life cycle assessment and must not be compared to other products without an identical functional unit.
